Dr. Timothy McGarity, M.D.

Timothy (Tim) McGarity was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. As the son of a USAF Pilot, he moved several times with his family. Dr. McGarity received his B.S. in Microbiology, honors, at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1997 and his M.D. at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock in 2002. After his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the University Medical Center in Little Rock, Dr. McGarity completed his medical and surgical residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2006. He joined the medical faculty of the University of Missouri, Columbia, and served as an Assistant professor of Clinical Ophthalmology. Dr. McGarity left the University and established Restoration Eye Care in 2011. Restoration Eye Care had significant growth from its inception, and in 2015, Dr. McGarity built a new facility that houses the clinic and surgery center. During this time he also opened recent clinic locations in Macon, Osage Beach, Kirksville, and Laurie, Missouri. 

Dr. McGarity routinely lectures and trains other physicians in the practice of ophthalmology. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist with the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he holds an active state license to practice medicine and surgery in the state of Missouri. Dr. McGarity has received numerous awards including Newsweek’s Best Ophthalmologist Top 20 award (national).
