After his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the University Medical Center in Little Rock, Dr. McGarity completed his medical and surgical residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2006. He joined the medical faculty of the University of Missouri, Columbia, and served as an Assistant professor of Clinical Ophthalmology. Dr. McGarity left the University and established Restoration Eye Care in 2011. Restoration Eye Care had significant growth from its inception, and in 2015, Dr. McGarity built a new facility that houses the clinic and surgery center. During this time he also opened recent clinic locations in Macon, Osage Beach, Kirksville, and Laurie, Missouri.

Dr. McGarity routinely lectures and trains other physicians in the practice of ophthalmology. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist with the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he holds an active state license to practice medicine and surgery in the state of Missouri. Dr. McGarity has received numerous awards including Newsweek’s Best Ophthalmologist Top 20 award (national).

Technology allows us to perform Constant Comparative Analysis on testing results, observe any discrete variations, and utilize “forecasting software” to predict the best outcomes. Our software takes each patient’s results and customizes products to help deliver even more accurate results for future patients. These tailored results give patients more choices in their advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma implants, and various laser treatments including iLASIK.
